From the Guardian: The music industry versus the net. It is not over yet, says Steve Bowbrick. But he's missing the point. It's not just about the music industry and file sharers, it's the whole digital copyright thing with hardware and software companies ganging up to turn PCs into glorified set-top boxes.

    if our internet content is to be served up like some bastardised macdonalds menu (pthuieee....-yechhh!), bowdlerised and sanitised for our convenience by the likes of yahoo, google, microsploff, and AOL, then that's the end of the internet for me. And my computer, other than email, will gather dust, like my television did until I chucked it out
